My respected friend & mentor Franzti's recent track Zukunfts by Zoltan Kodaly is the inspiration behind this track (which somehow ringed a reggae tune in mind) along with the other reason being the pressing demand by a lot of friends and fans to do a fusion groove with Dhool & Bhangra beats.

With the arrival of spring (temperature crossed 30 degree centigrade here in UAE today & that is peak summer for most of my friends in Europe & Americas) I took this opportunity to do a light mood track which is a fusion of Reggae & Bhangra…

Basant is the name of traditional spring festival in Indo Pak sub continent culture & the roots are mainly embedded in Punjab (The land of five rivers), people wear colourful clothes and dance to celebrate the festival of colour, life, greenery and reproduction, kite flying is also a traditional event on Basant which particularly became very popular in my home town Lahore but unfortunately it has now been banned by the Government for various reasons.

Reggae on the other hand originated in the late 1960s in Jamaica and has its very own characteristics on accents on the off beats and somehow I started to relate the two styles where the bass line and guitar rhythms have pure reggae mood which is overlapped by traditional Dhool beats (Drum) from Punjab with modern electronic bhangra beats, percussions and bit of  MMM vocal loops along with speech synthesizers run through vocoder. After a long time I am doing a mix of midi and loops.

…..The synergy between the two styles surprised me to be honest. Failing to find the right genre from pre-defined categories, I have to put is under Pop-Folk.

Beware of the bass on the sub-woofer and take care of your glass & fragile items..

Wow! This is a very interesting mix of styles, pal. Congratulations!
Not of my favourite style, but interesting enough to listen to it one more time.
Let's see what there is more to find from you...

Cheers,

Interesting fusion... definetely worth listening... even though this one will not be on my daily playlist...

It's a pity that there is no genre world music in this comm...

woow, I love the mix, even though I don't really know the different music styles..
I really like it. Everything except for the drums (the ones that we can hear during all the song, and the ones at the beginning of the song); ok, they're good, but I would've taken them out for a moment or make a solo out of them, just to make a little variety in terms of rythm... But still, it sounds great!! 5* ^^,

wow, this is a captivating synthesis of reggae and Bhangra.

You are musically very versatile and your songs are rightly in the charts, a great compliment of me to you.
