Do I have to use Website Maker to take advantage of the free domain and hosting?

Your question refers to… Website Maker

To take advantage of the free domain and hosting I signed up for, do I have to purchase Website Maker?

Or, can I set up my domain name and get the free hosting without Website Maker and use what I already have, Xara Designer Pro 7.

Magix don't offer free domains. Free hosting or Website Maker free offers a free Magix Webaddress (a Subdomain like http://yourname.magix.net) A real domain e.g. www.yourname.com costs 0.99 bucks per month.
