importing video, camcorder connected but no video on playback screen

Your question refers to… Mobile Movie Creator

Importing from Canon Vixia HV40 via firewire to Magix pro 17, camera is connected, plays fwd/back etc.via computer,  but no video/pic on playback screen?  Computer is operating with Windows 7.  All works well on Windows XP, & internet forums have many entries from people with same Windows 7 problem.   Do you know of any solutions for this problem with this Camera & Windows 7

It might be that Mobile Movie Creator is not Windows 7 compatible. I do not have that software, do I am unfamiliar with it.
