Installation problems.

I've purchased and repurchased Web Designer 6 from two different store and I'm having the same problem.  My computer doesn't even recognize that there's a disc in the drive!  is there a bad batch of discs? or what?  When is use "explorer", I keep getting a message that I should put a disc in the drive....*OR* it just locks up my computer and nothing happens.....except sometimes I lose all my icons on my desktop!  ----HELP!---
