Community rules
Please make yourself familiar with the following community rules developed for magix.info – the Multimedia Knowledge Community:
1. Be polite!
Insults, coarse language, and harassment of any kind toward other community members is forbidden. Respect the opinions and views of other members. Avoid provocations and remain objective.
2. Ask meaningful and friendly questions
- Write as exactly as possible. No one else can see what you're doing at your PC and what's happening, so try to describe it the best you can.
- Ask a question! This increases the chance of being clicked on. The most important thing is that your contribution explains what the matter is. The editors reserve the right to edit questions for the sake of objectivity and relevance.
- magix.info is a free service for your questions and discussions regarding multimedia knowledge. It is not a replacement for support and not an official support site! In this case it can occur that you might not receive the help you were looking for from surfing MAGIX experts. Maybe no one knew the answer or the question was never clicked on. Try again and experiment with another question title, and maybe a different formulation for the question.
- The editors will provide assistance, observe, and mediate between those using magix.info, but they are not support agents. If you are certain that you want to reach a support agent, please visit: http://support.magix.net
- For help questions about your MAGIX software or about Online Services that you post on magix.info or on the support pages and magix.info, please mention the details about what you are working with, i.e. computer hardware, operating system, software and its version number.
Always keep in mind: If you're looking for answers, then ask nicely! Those who ask polite questions often receive the most answers!
3. Legible contributions
Contributions should always be written in such a manner that other users can understand them without having any difficulties. This includes a meaningful title, a readable written form (including punctuation!), as well as understandable language. Code, unconventional abbreviations, dialects, or languages foreign to the forum should be avoided as much as possible. In order to guarantee this, everyone should thoroughly reread their posts before publishing them to ensure that they are understandable and readable!
Note: The editors reserve the right to edit content, sort topics, avoid provocations, and formulate questions more precisely.
4. Avoid topics which are the same and empty topics
Use the search function on magix.info as intensively as possible, since there is often a solution for many of the questions you might have. To keep the forum organized, please don't post multiple topics about the same thing!
Cross posting, i.e. spreading around the same entry in multiple categories, should be avoided. In general, an entry can be corrected and/or completed by you personally.
Contributions without an informative conclusion should be avoided. This includes entries which are only made up of a few words (confirmations of the previous entry, for example) as well as smiley entries (entries which are only composed of smileys). Such entries will be deleted without warning or commentary. Unnecessary quotation my be shortened or completely deleted.
5. Awarding points and evaluations
You can say thanks to other users for their answers by awarding them points for the "best answer". Important: If you are satisfied, then mark the problem as solved! Award positive evaluations if you like certain media, but please take the time to evaluate the contents critically. A flighty 5 star evaluation which is awarded like SPAM doesn't help anybody.
6. Advertising + Spam
Use of the community for commercial purposes of any kind is forbidden. Don't send SPAM mails. This also applies to community-internal "invitation mails" in unusual quantities.
7. Promotion of illegal copies and illegal downloads, and pornographic, racist, or discriminating contributions
Requesting, promoting, advertising, and linking to copyright-protected material for illegal purposes is strictly forbidden. Linking to, advertising, and displaying pornographic material will not be tolerated. Entries which incite racial hatred or provoke seditious actions may be punishable by law. Discrimination against minorities will not be tolerated.
8. Directives – Noncompliance
Directives made by our monitors and administrators are to be respected and followed. Violation of these rules can and should be reported to our moderators: editors@magix.info
Users who exploit the forums as their personal soapbox and use their contributions primarily as a method of starting trouble will be identified by administrators and will have to face the appropriate consequences. This will help ensure that the quality of our discussions remains at a certain level and that insulting content aimed at users and MAGIX employees will be kept at a minimum.
If we should be informed that members are being harassed via private messaging, then the moderation team will become active and react with warnings, temporary suspensions, and finally with expulsions from the community. Take care of the tone in your private messages as well! Differences of opinion can be settled best by the editors: editors@magix.info
9. Double registration
Multiple registrations made by one and the same person are not permitted. This results in confusion, false evaluation results, and mistrust among users. Administrators reserve the right to remove proven double accounts from the community immediately.
10. Exceptions to the rule
In individual cases which have not been covered by the rules described above, the administrators and monitors will make decisions based on the relevant facts.
We wish everyone a lot of fun, a valuable exchange, and useful help on magix.info,
The magix.info Team
