Why won't the burn process burn the added material to an existing project

braz wrote on 5/17/2014, 6:32 AM

Hi all, I'm after some help. I am doing a long dvd of our holidays. I completed about 10 minutes and because it is slow on computer I burned what was already done to see what it was like on tv. So far all good. so went on to add new material to existing project, it has been saved but now when I go to burn it doesn't burn any of the new material only the first 10minutes, any help is much appreciated, I know this is probably something basic, but I have spent hours editing, did a search but didn't see anything relevant, thanks Phill

Hi,

Does the full project play from start to finish

- on the timeline?

- in the Burn mode player?

After starting the burn procedure did you get any message requesting a decision?

Hi

To add to Terry's question - After starting the burn procedure did you get any message requesting a decision -

ie this message

- if so what I would suspect you clicked Use or Use all in which case the additions would not be encoded into the movie.  You should select Encode all and if you made changes to the menu or added more chapters you should also check the two options in the above dialog to re-encode the menus.

Thanks, yes it does play entirely on the play line.

John, that is exactly what happened, that box did appear and I clicked "use all"  Can you tell me what I need to do to fix it, because now it doesn't come up automatically. If I don't get straight back to you it's because it's 11:20pm here in australia but will check in the morning. Thanks again

Hi,

Click Encode All instead of Use All:

Hi again and thanks for helping me through this. tried advice and the box did come up and I ticked the boxes to encode all. Now a new problem. It came up with an "error encode" so now won't proceed to burning at all, even the first ten minutes, any advice on what could be going on?

Thanks again, Phill

Hi

Locate the folder where MEP is saving the disc image to - to find where this is look in the programs settings (Y key) on the Folders tab, Disc images.

In the folder found above you should see a folder whose name starts with DVD image followed by the project name.

Move or delete this folder and everything in it.

Then try the burn again.

Also make sure your MEP has the atest patch applied.

Hi John and Terry. just wanted to say thanks for your help. I got it sorted and burned. I would have replied earlier but it took over 6hrs to convert and burn and my old computer only likes to do one thing at a time.

Thanks again. Phill
