I'm not a pro but here goes. I have edited previous videos and now have several clips I'd like to combine and do some more editing to. I load the first clip but when I try to add the second clip to the timeline mode it won't let me. I have no problem doing it with .VOB extensions but .MVP extensions won't let me.

The problem is that a .mvp file is not really a video but rather a data file that defines a MEP 'Project' -- what clips, images, cut points, transitions, titles, etc, etc, etc. To join material from one project to another while preserving previous editing you need to us the 'Manage movies' options.
