Error message: from Servies2.simplitec.com/autoupdate/api... Message reads "Socket operation timed out". It appears each time I reboot the computer.

Is your AV or Firewall blocking MEP's attempts to contact the Update Server? If so, you need to allow it in the settings of those security apps.

Then you need to add Movie Edit Pro to the excluded folders for scanning in Windows Defender and any running antivirus programs you run. It can be caused by the program calling the Magix servers asking for authentication of your purchase periodically and register as a false positive threat on your systems internet protection.
