How do I Cut parts of a Vocal Track

Your question refers to… Music Maker

Hi,

I have recorded a vocal track. I like 95% of the track, but there is one part I want to cut. I canNOT figure out for the life of me how to cut out parts of tracks that are recorded with a microphone. Can anyone help? I just want to cut 2 notes out of the middle of this track.

Hi,

Ok it is an eay method for you. For time being forget your vocal. Just choose any audio, it could be from Soundpool available in Magix Music Maker, you can choose from instruments such as

Bass, Drum, Vocal, Stirng, Pad etc just drag one item and drop on arranger.

Refer Image 1 in screen shot I re arranged for you.

Now Play the audio and listen then just imagine you want to cut some part

example from Point A to Point B you do not need, therefore put cursor on the desired Point A in the Yellow area where small figures are given, as in the screen shot image 1 marked in RED, cursor position displayed by red thin line from top to bottom. Now on keyboard of computer click the key "T" it will split the audio in to two parts now move cursor to Position B as in screen shot image 2 in RED again put cursor on the desired Point B in the Yellow area where small figures are given, cursor position displayed by red thin line from top to bottom. Now click again on Key "T".

You finally got the centre piece which is not needed therefore put curosor on it, you can delete or cut the centre part. Look at screen shot image 3 in RED, put cursor on the last part and drag on left side it will be aligned. Now play and listen.

If you ever use "T" to split after that you could also hold mouse and drag audio to left or right that will also shorten the part but not precisely.

Unless you try your self you can not do try it.

Hi,

An other way is to adjust the volume with a curve. Click on " fx" in the left part of the track and select "volume curve". Define points on the yellow line of the volume by double click. Move the points. It could be a non destructive method and you can define a decreasing and increasing slope avoiding noise around your 2 notes with 4 points.

Hi,

As you did not mentiond which product of Magix you are using I assume it is Magix Music Maker and here is detial that will help you even in case of other proudct if you are using.

Open software, Magix Music maker, from File Manger browse your vocal clip and drag and drop on arranger. Put cursor at the beginning where you want part to be removed click on "T" key it will cut it then put cursor at the end and click "T" on key board. The part you do not need could easily be removed if you put cursor and use cut. Now adjust the remaining part as you wish. You can apply this technique from where you want to remove any part in audio.

Refer image for details I have made for you. If need help send message.
