Questions & Answers
How do I fix my recording lag?
I'm very new to this program. I'm using a radio shack recording device to record audio along with my
selected track. However, there is an extreme lag. I've tried to switch the tempo but it becomes tiresome.
When I switched drivers to Asio and then magix low latency 2008, I cant hear anyhing. Can someone help me
out because I really adore this program.
1. If u have an onboard soundcard - loose it. Get an external soundcard via usb or iEEE. Any will do if it's just for vocal speech. Try thomann.de - great store usually good offers.
2. Hardware is not all - remember to set the latency right. your programme might be default set to compensate with less live feeds like, effects, playing while recording...etc. The buffer settings are also important and check if your system runs 16- or 32-bit recording. 16-bit is way enough for radio.

Thank you! I'll see if this helps and let you know how it turned out.
Hi,
I read your question and answers here and thinking, if you use Magix Music maker and you want to record something with Radio Shack recording device, (is it a voice recorder/cell phone call recorder). If you use Radio Shack I think you just connect it to computer and could record easily whatever you play in the background.
You want to record Audio + selected track. By audio you mean vocal, conversation etc? and by track mean Music? If this is the case, I think you can record in the Magix Music Maker without Radio Shack.
To run comptuer smoothly we need
Best Processor ( you got one)
Enough Ram ( you got that too)
Hard Drive empty space (unknown)
As your computer is well equipped with 9100 Quad-core processor and 4 GB ram you should not face freezing, hanging any other problem. What is empty hard drive space? If that is not enough even if you got all nice things on pc that could create problem.
Point to note, whatever you do when you use Magix Music maker, stop using any other software, e-mail, messengers. Just use magix. Better clear, Browser history and cookies before you try this.
If you could provide more info I think your problem is not big. Just one thing I do use Windows vista 32 bit home premium, and it is a real headache some time it also create problem.
If need more help feel free to contact. Or if my answer is not what you want then sorry.
Thank you

Kecia,
You seem to have the latest technology on your computer
There is a free application called "Anvir task manager" that can help you find what is causing the lag on your computer
The following link is the demo of the application

Good luck!

Thank you for responding. I have a 9100 Quad-core processor, I have a Vista. Sorry I'm not that great with
computers and I have 4 GB of ram. I'm still not sure as to what the problem is.
Hello Kecia.
I have the same problem.
My computer is too old. I do not have a processor powerful enough to support the software. I also do not have enough RAM memory (only 1 GB) and finally, my video card only has 256 MB storage.
So, I need to close all unnecessary application. Disable a few tracks when recording but even then.
Long story short, you need to have at least a processor dual core, 4 GB RAM and a1 GB video card.
Hope this helps.
