I am a new user. On importing any file the audio track shows a signal but I have no sound. Is there a something in the setup I have missed?

 Go to ---FILES, SETTINGS, PROGRAM, PLAYBACK - and select your "driver selection" and "playback device". These are different on each computer and may need to be selected for your setup.
