I do not get a storyboard when in the edit mode.....why

while you're in "Edit"-mode, you can open and close all the different windows in Movie Edit Pro. To see the timeline you need to go to the menu "Window"and make sure that there is a check mark next to the list entry "Project". If there is no check mark you need to select "Project" by clicking on it. The Timeline should appear now.
