Making object with no background

Your question refers to… Xara Photo & Graphic Designer

I am making image layers for use in IClone4 and ultimately MEP 14Pro and have a photo of a theatre stage.
I have the auditorium and stage curtains as separate objects but fin myself in a hole when trying to eliminate the background so i caqn use the images as image layers in iClone.
I have used the select tool and the baackground has changed from white to back, but I need the image only.
Can anyone help?

I have saved the file as PNG. Having looked at the manual it seems to me cutting round an image is only of use if used to paste onto another omage within Xtreme photo.
Maybe I would be better off using Sketchup?

I'm not familiar with your program but if you want an image with a transparent background you need to save as a file type that supports transparency such as gif or png for example - what file type are you using ?
