About me:
Jay Michael is an award winning veteran broadcaster with 19 years experience. He produced his first 8mm film at age 16. When the video revolution began in the late 1980's he started a local company shooting weddings and event videography. Video has evolved since those early days and Jay evolved with the technology. After trying several video editing software packages he found Video Deluxe 2.0 from Magix and converted to digital video editing afterward. When Movie Edit Pro 12 was released Jay bought it and built his studio around it. He often wrote about it's power and capabilities on his blog, In The Viewfinder. Shortly after that he began producing tutorials for the blog on how to better use the software. By the time Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus arrived Jay had Mastered the Magix video suite and was awarded MAGIXIAN Of The Month by the Magix Corporation in May 2008. He produced two documentaries using the new version. With Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus Jay produced three volumes of tutorials on DVD entitled "Mastering Movie Edit Pro" and formed the Movie Edit Pro Users Group on Ning.
Jay Michael was instrumental in recommending that Magix develop a professional version of the software. In late 2008 Magix released Video Pro X and he was one of the first to install it. With Video Pro X he produced two more documentaries and continues to use it as his primary video editing software. Through the Movie Edit Pro Users group Jay has met and worked with other Magix users and maintained a network of video editors both professional and enthusiast. He continues to use the latest version of Video Pro X on a dedicated machine which is the centerpiece of his video editing suite. Jay Michael publishes his blog, In The Viewfinder and often writes about Magix software. He is a moderator on the Digital Video Professionals web community and a partner with the stock footage company PhoenixClips.com
Jay Michael relies on the power and performance of Video Pro X and uses the software daily producing event video and corporate material. He now has thirteen special interest videos on the market.
