What does VTS_01_1.VOB mean?

Your question refers to… Movie Edit Pro

I simply want to burn my project to a DVD, using a PC with Windows 7 and Magix Video Pro 16HD.  I want to be able to play the movie on a standard DVD player.

I do not know what options to select and can't find sufficient information in the Magix help

This is the complete file structure of a DVD

The other files not indicated are control and information files for the DVD player

Just to add to what aseoli said, in the Burn dialog the select the button (1) then form the dropdown list (2) select the appropriate DVD setting for your region/format.

There should be no need to change anything else unless the movie is more than 2 hours long

The VOB-file is the videofile also containing audio. It is automatically made when Burning a DVD. Just go to Burn and follow the instructions, normally you don't need any corrections.
