When I tried to burn a DVD on mynewly installed Dell Vostro PC the 'burn' tab in Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus does not show the identity of the DVD burner.

Does your newly installed DELL have Win7 ? If it does, then it won't burn, cos it isn't Win 7 compatible. Even if you don't have Win 7 , always get everything updated, including the firmware for your burner too.

Also try downloading and installing what are known as burn routines. Those for Magix you can download from here -
