hi john , i click the link on my products, then save the exe file , it extracts the files for instalation then the white install screen appears with the progress, then it stops, clicked continue and nothing, tried changing where the programme is installed but that did nothing still stops in the same place, checked the specs of my pc and its more than capable of handling the programme very frustrating

I'm still not completely positive I can follow exactly where things are going wrong. Does the actual installer ever start, and e.g. present you with the options to customise the installation process or do an installation with default settings? (An installer starting up, but just presenting a blank/white screen would be a personal first for me.) If that never happens, you might want to try bypassing the download/installation manager application altogether, and download & execute the actual installer from this link:

If it is a problem with the actual program installer, please get in touch with MAGIX support to troubleshoot this with you:

Hello Paul,

I'm having the same issue trying to install Audio Studio 13 on my computer. I got the installer after signing up and when I execute it starts then pauses and never goes beyond 0%. I click to continue but it keeps pausing. Included a screen shot of the paused screen.

This is frustrating!

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Your screenshot shows that it is the downloading of the installer that is paused, at 0%, i.e. even before it has actually started the download!!

Is it possible that something on your computer, e.g. Antivirus or Firewall is "blocking" the download? As @ralftaro suggested above, this is not a problem that is in any way "usual"; certainly, I've never seen it before!

Beyond the whole firewall/anti-virus situation, there are also some settings in the Windows/Internet Explorer API options that can cause problems with the download manager. I believe I may have replied to a support ticket from you earlier today with some suggestions on how to rectify this. If that wasn't you, or if you (or anyone else) just needs the quickest and easiest fix to this issue, it would be by bypassing the DLM and downloading the installer directly from this URL:

http://dl04.magix.net/2019/SOUNDFORGEAudioStudio13/Program/SOUND_FORGE_Audio_Studio_13.0.0.45_x64_INT_190108_12-29.exe

Just be aware of the fact that, if there are any such connectivity issues on your system, you *might* be running right into the next problem during the product activation, in which case you won't get around further looking into firewall/security and Windows/Internet Explorer API configuration.

Hi Jeff,

I was baffled as well and thought it was something with the firewall or security so turned off my antivirus and firewall, then every security I could place my paws on but still the installer didn't work until @ralftaro sent me the direct download link and I finally was able to download and working. Thanks.

Heya @ralftaro, thanks very much for the link. I was finally able to download and install the software on my PC. I'm not sure what the issue my pc had against the installer but the download worked perfectly and I'm running the program fine. Thanks once again!

I seem to be getting the same issue, but not even the link works.

I've tried turning off the firewall, but it still doesn't work.

I was trying to download Music Maker Free, and Magix Video Pro X Free to try the program but I think I had the same issue @Danz had, it gets stuck at 0%.

The direct link not working to bypass the download manager sounds like an unlikely scenario to me. What link specifically were you using? Please keep in mind that the direct link (as opposed to the official download manager links in your MAGIX account or order confirmation) can expire quickly, once the installer on the server for particular product generation gets replaced with a newer version. I did check the Music Maker 27.x link above, and it's still active, though. So, it *should* work for you. However, really, you'd want to go with the direct link for generation 28.x now:

On a side note, as far as the true cause of this download manager problem situation goes, we have also managed to connecting the whole "download manager progress pauses at 0%" situation to the dreaded "controlled folder access" feature in Windows Defender. (Yes, another one of those problems...) If you have this feature activated, it could be causing this conflict with our installer. In order to turn it back off, please proceed as follows:

Open the Windows Defender Security Center by clicking the shield icon in the task bar or searching the start menu for "Defender". Click the "Virus & threat protection" tile (or the shield icon on the left menu bar) and then click "Ransomware protection". Set the switch for "Controlled folder access" to "Off".

Once this is done, please perform the MAGIX program download/installation again. If you wanted to turn the protective feature discussed above back on after the successful installation, this should not be a problem.
