At first it seemed as though the Fire Wire (Driver) was not detected?
After some adjusting, 'Nero Vision Essentials' opened automatically apparently allowing the control surface to appear and operate the DV Camcoder (and counter working). But at first only Stop/Start, and counter worked ...

RESOLVED - UPDATE !
I closed the 'Nero Essentials Program' and finally got the control surface to accurately capture and record video.
