When starting Movie Edit Pro it always runs the Installation Manager

ka1n0 escrito el 08.10.PM a las 12:41 horas

I have bought the latest Movie Edit Pro. As usual, with a new version there are less problems but also new problems...

Every time I open Movie Edit Pro, it also starts the "Installationsmanager".

And I need to "cancel" the dialog.

If I hit "yes", I get:

But I do not need all the stuff. I just need the basic software. (Especially because of harddrive space.)

How to prevent the Installation Manager from starting every time?!

PS: If I disable all fields, the "Continue" button gets grayed out:

@ka1n0

The "Continue" button is the instruction to MEP to download and install the additional content, so if you untick all the options there is nothing to continue! "Cancel" will clear the message.

It is clearly the user's choice whether, or not, to download all the additional content that comes with the version of MEP he/she has bought. But, in that case, I have to ask, why did you buy a variant (from the list of possible content I think you have the Premium variant) whose full content you didn't want? You say you need the basic software so why did you not buy the Basic variant?

IMO, all that additional content is what makes the program really useful and versatile.

EDIT: to add; we see a number of posts to the forum from new users of the program who feel they are "missing" parts of the program, usually caused by the fact they have failed to download and install all the available additional content. You have the opposite problem! They clearly don't see the message screen that you are concerned about. To attempt to hide the screen go to Program Settings (shortcut Y)>System and tick the "Hide News" option. I have no idea whether this will prevent the message appearing for you.

I bought "MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2021".

https://www.magix.com/us/video-editor/movie-edit-pro/functions/

Not Plus or Premium.

I don't want to fill up my harddrive with things I do not need.

So there is no way to disable this weird ask-on-every-start-behavior?

@ka1n0

I'm afraid the page you linked neither confirms nor denies which exact variant you have bought, since it is a comparison of all three!

Did you try changing the setting I mentioned in my edit above?

If that doesn't work I'm afraid that yes, there does seem to be no way to disable this behaviour, which, as I have already said, is certainly not weird and would be of considerable assistance to a number of other users.

It's this one as activated:

There is no other "lesser" version.

It obviously always comes with all the ~ 2GB packages.

Hi

. . . . There is no other "lesser" version. . . . .

You have the 'Basic' version

. . . . So there is no way to disable this weird ask-on-every-start-behavior? . . .

Yes there is - though it is not very obvious.

Do the following:

In Program settings, System tab click the Reactivate dialogs button.

Restart MEP, you should now get a dialog stating you can download the extra content, check the Dont show again. . . and click the Later button

When you restart MEP the extra content install dialog should not appear.

😂😂😂

I actually got it from Magix Support, the odd thing is you are only the third person I know of who has been affected by this since 2021 came out.

Just wanted to say thanks for the 2021 fix! I also was affected by this on every program opening. I reactivated dialogs and on next open, clicked "later" with "don't show this message again" and all is good.
