This is a tribute to one of the greatest actors of a genre of movies called 'poliziottesco' (poliziotto means cop in italian), very popular in Italy between the years ‘60 and ‘70. Tarantino has often been inspired by this genre of movies as great fan of 'poliziottesco' and of the old Italian movies in general.

An heart attack killed Maurizio Merli in 1989, he was 49 years old.
