Aspect ratio changes on exporting a file

I am using Magix Movie Edit Pro 15.
After editing a wmv file and exporting it in the same format I find the aspect ratio is slightly different in that the figures appear longer in the vertical aspect. Any reason for this and how can I correct it so that the ratio is the same as the original (1:1)?

Check to ensure that the aspect ratio setting in the movie project and in your output choice match that of your source material.
