Boris FX (bcc) keep listing

bjtap wrote on 12/8/2025, 5:26 PM

I keep deleting the bcc fx from Video Deluxe 2026 (Windows 11) located at

C:Users:MyName:AppData:Roaming:Magix:Videodeluxe32_plus:VfxPlugins

but they keep repopulating. How do I stop Video Deluxe 2026 from listing these Boris FX plugins.. I do not intend to purchase or use any of them. (BCC.vsx files).

Rebooting the computer or not makes no difference.

Thanks:

Barry

You might have to look in this directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins

There you will be a folder labeled BorisFX. You can move it to your desktop first, restart VDL and see if the plugins reappear.

But you should go here: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features and uninstall BorisFX and anything with that name.

Reyfox,

Thanks for the reply. Deleting the files in the first directory you suggested did eliminate the effects, but not VDL listing them.

Going to the control panel and deleting the Boris FX there did result in eliminating the boris fx in VDL... but also eliminating the Boris FX (which I pay for) in Filmora. When I reinstalled them for Filmora they reappeared in VDL.

So I guess I have a choice, eliminate the Boris FX in both programs (Filmora and VDL) or live with the Boris FX showing up in VDL and ignoring them. (There just seems to be so many)! I suppose I can uninstall either or both Filmora and/or VDL but I am not ready to do that... at least not yet.

Thanks again.

Barry

When you install Boris, you do not have to install all the "demos". During installation, you are asked if you want to do this. Don't and you won't have all the Boris FX you didn't pay for.

I don't know if Filmora supports OFX, but if the Boris FX are the OFX, then there is nothing that you can do to stop them from showing in up VDL, VP, Vegas, Resolve.

Curious as to which BorisFX you have installed? I have Continuum Complete 2026. Love it. But it performs poorly, or not at all in MMS/VP.
