Burn Error Message - Advise Please

Whalebat wrote on 3/10/2012, 4:43 PM

For a long time now I have been getting an error message at the very end of the burn process.

I haven't sought any advise to date because although I get an error dialog and fail log the project burns okay.

Can anyone advise why this happens?

Here's The Last Few Log Lines

Hi

Assuming the DVD's play OK in the computer DVD drive and in a DVD player then there is may be a small focusing error in the burners optical system.

I have recently changed my DVD burners to higher speed  identical pair and I occasionally get a read error on verification from one of the drives, however it does not appear to affect the burned DVD's

Have you updated your burn routines to the latest aailable here

Hello John

Thanks for the reply and explanation.

I have two identical drives installed as below:

BurnSupport: D: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS40 Rev. NL00
BurnSupport: E: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS40 Rev. NL00

No, I haven't updated any burn routines.

What are burn routines?

I noticed that the link you provided has updates for 2009 and 2010.

Would I use both of these updates or does 2010 supercede the 2009?

Please advise a little further.

Thanks In advance

Hi Whalebat

You have a similar set up to mine - does the error occur on the second drive or both drives?  Mine only occurs on the second drive when I am burning using Nero and both drives simultaneously.

The Burn routines are the software that communicates with the DVD burners and they hold settings about the different types of writers available.

You only need the latest burn routines - ie 2010.

Cheers

John

Hello John

The 2010 Updates seem to have resolved the burn issue I was having, see image below

Thanks again
