CC 123 interfering with MIDI Learn

I'm trying to use MIDI learn with a VST. For example, set CC 74 to control the VST's filter cutoff. But the VST's knob inevitably gets hijacked by CC 123 no matter what I try. Am I missing something? Does anyone know how to get around this? Thanks in advance.

@Phillip-Orphan You can check the MIDI Monitor for incoming MIDI messages in the hardware controller setup inside the Samplitude program settings or make a short MIDI recording of CC74 and then look up in the MIDI Event List if CC123 was recorded as well. Maybe your MIDI device sends both CC74 and CC123.
