Direct edit of MP4 results in stuttering audio when there is more than 1 track.

Hi.

I've tried to use MEP16 to edit MP4 video directly, without converting to magix own format (.mvx). Each time I try, exported files end up with stuttering audio...

The audio is taken from the recordings made with the camera (no posibility of dodgy imported material).

Source MP4 is from a JVC HM700 (Video is XDCAM long GOP MPEG2 - full hd, 25p; audio is mono to both tracks)

If I convert all the media to magix media, (doubling the disk space used) it works fine... any number of audio and video tracks mix without a hitch... so whats the problem?

Does the software favour the magix format, despite the promises to work with all main formats?

what a pain... any ideas anyone?

The problems with MP4 can also stem from the multitude of manufactures using it. I have not had problems with the H.264 MP4 so, it might be a codec issue from the read and playback conversion from the JVC.

All my footage is in MTS, this causes some resource issues with the audio stutter, but my exports are always fine.

I am not sure if any of that helps. I know for long captures I convert to AVI, then I delete the MTS off the system and just use the AVI file for editing and exporting, usually to a MP4 H.264 file. I do not see the conversion as a draw back, as pretty much every video software has to compensate for editing codecs versus the playback. Taxing the system to save disk space is not the wise choice... even though I do it. for me, it is all about saving the quality of the video versus the space it takes.
