Error Code -57

Dave-Eric wrote on 11/8/2019, 2:57 PM

I keep getting this error code after installation and when attempting to open the program.

"Your installation folder may be damaged Error code: -57

Try re-installing..."

I have gone through a complete uninstall, download, re-install at least 4 times and I get the result same each time.

I down loaded MXInstallHelper.exe - but I don't know what to put in the top empty box for program.

Very frustrated, I bought the program and I can't use it.

@Dave-Eric

Hi

It may be of value if you use the free Revo Uninstaller to uninstall the program - if that fails to fix the install issue then try the following:

Uninstall the affected Magix program –the program name will be referred to as ‘affected program’ below

Delete any folders / files left behind relating to affected program that you find in the following folders:

  1. c:\Program files\Magix\affected program

  2. c:\Program files (x86)\Magix\affected program

  3. c:\ProgramData\Magix\affected program - this is a hidden file so you may need to set Windows Explorer to show Hidden files

It is important to delete any files left behind in the above folders - if this is not done the re-install will still fail.

Hi, I have the same problem and I tried the previously recommended solutions, but to no avail. I'm trying to install prox6 on windows 7. Unfortunately, for the 3rd day in a row. Is there any other solution? Regards

@Ernest-Gawe

You say you are trying to install pro x6. Can you please confirm that you are asking about Video Pro X6, which is now a very old program?

If you are referring to Video Pro X16 then this is not designed to run under Windows 7.

@Ernest-Gawe

Then this thread is not appropriate for your question, sorry!

This thread is about Movie Studio and so is in the Video area of the forums; questions about Samplitude Pro should be in the Audio area or, better still, since this is Samplitude Pro, to the dedicated forum you were previously directed to in this thread.

This thread will now be closed but if you do repost to the Audio area please include the answers to the questions I asked in my first reply.
