Getting AVCHD .MTS files to reverse play

SKJohnson wrote on 3/13/2011, 4:16 PM

Hello-

I can not get short AVCHD video clips (.MTS files) to reverse play (I've tried many speeds and have run the clip through optimization). Each clip is no longer than 20 seconds.  I am using Magix movie edit pro 17 plus HD (updated latest version). I have a Dell I7, 4G, 64 bit op system. My JVC recorder is HD 1920 x 1080 recording (24Mbps High Bit Rate Recording).

My old .MPG 720 x 480 files work fine, but now I am only using the new JVC recorder.

Please, Please advise.

Hi, SKJohnson,

I hope I understood quite well.

Try this:

1. mark the clip in timeline (click right mouse)

2. click symbol "broken chain" - the sound ist separeted from videopictures.

3. mark the clip in truck 1

4. Select Videoeffects > speed ; mark "reverse"

This function works only without sound.

I beg your pardon for my bad English.

Good luck - Wisentanixe

Hello Wisentanixe- Yes I tried this as well and it still doesn't work.  I also went into program settings and put the video display to the lowest resolution and that still doesn't work....

Hi, SKJohnson,

put settings back in the origin.

If "4. select videoeffects > speed; mark reverse" is done, you`d do

5. select: file > export > video MPEG (4) video

6. reload this new file - now reverse playing - again into project.

This proceducere has to be done for each clip.

I tried too - successfully. It`s easy.

Good luck. - Wisentanixe

Wisentanixe-

Thank you Thank you.  This does work!!  However, it is unfortunate that Magix doesn't allow HD AVCHD .MTS files to be edited directly.  Anyway, I really do appreciated your reponse.

Cheers,

Sooze.
