Green Thumbnails

I am using Movie Studio and all of a sudden, all my thumbnails in the import window are green. I can hear audio when I preview the clips but see no video. Is this common and does anyone know how to fix it ?

@allan-h Green often means a GPU (graphics card) problem. Check your GPU drivers are up to date.

Share on here your system details, full name of the CPU & GPU & how much RAM you have. Also which Windows version & which version of Movie Studio you're referring to.

I have an older Lenovo Core 15 4460, it has 16 GB of SSD and 2 TB of storage. I am using Magix Movie Studio 2025. The machine used to run the program with no issues.

Assuming the integrated HD4600 GPU in the i5-4460 processor is the only GPU in the PC then this may be the result of the HD4600 driver being updated to the 'last' version, via Windows update, which has disabled DirectX 12 functionality - see this article regarding the Intel 4th gen iGPU issue and solution.

Ah 👍, so an update is bad in this case.

In that link - 'If you need DirectX 12 applications running on these processor's graphics, downgrade the driver to version 15.40.42.5063 or older.' - is basically a rollback, the opposite of what I suggested 🤦‍♂️😂👍
