Please Help Me!!! When I capture from a video source (not fire wire or digital video), the end product in the editing program is too fast and not usable. I re-installed it but this did not help.
Just change the speed, middleman! 'How?' I hear you ask... Depends on your program version.
In the newer ones eg MEP16 & VPX, select the clip and go to the 'Effects' tab >> 'Video Effects' >> 'Speed'. In older version eg MEP14 select your clip, right click, and choose 'Video effects...' or hit [Shift + Y] which will bring up the real time effects window where you can choose 'Play speed'.
In either case you can vary the speed up of down by a factor of two without altering the pitch of the linked sound track. Hope this is what you want. It should work unless there is something very strange about your clip. Does it play fast with say windows media player?
Note: with the audio unlinked you can change the speed even more for special effects. You can also alter the pitch of an audio object without changing it's playing speed.
