I want to take 3 different video scenes and layer them 1 over the other to create 1 multi scene shot. How is this done with video not photo...... Any help would be great thanks....
As you have probably discovered the MEP video collage presets are designed for still images. For videos I think you would be best constructing your own using the 'Effects' tab >> 'Video effects' >> Size/Position'. Stack your clips one above the other on different timelines. When you pick size/position a dotted line appears around the selected object and you can re-size and move it in the preview window.
I don't know what you would do with the sound of your clips -- stacking will make all of the audio tracks play simultaneous!
The Collages work very well with video but the sound gets muted for obvious reasons. Place your 3 clips one after the other on the timeline track1 then drag and drop the collage onto the first one and let MEP work its magix. If you do not like the effect just hit undo and try another one.
You could unlock the sound tracks and copy them or save (export) them as WAV or MP3 prior to applying the collage and drag them back onto a spare track under the collage after you had applied the effect. I usually overlay music and a title to creating a very professional looking intro.
Your PC will probably struggle to play back all the layers smoothly, so I sometimes export just the collage section of the timeline when I am almost happy with it and and check it finally in Media player. If it looks sweet then I sometimes replace all the stuff the collage scatters over numerous tracks, with the rendered piece.
