You would use the mouse to shift over the material to the right of the empty place to the left. You might want to check into the different mouse modes.
When cutting, you should learn the cutting functions; click the small triangle at the razorblade and study the choices. But often it is unevitable to get some 'holes', we can find them easily: In MEP 16 and 17 we have a shortcut for that:
Go to Edit > Move view > To next empty range (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+5)
I found the empty space via of the movie view section - However, the empty space will not delete. I tried cutting the empty space to no avail. When try to export the movie I get an error message that I have 47 areas of empty space. Can someone provide me with another solution for deleting the empty space?
Also if you have found the empty space, I find I can click on the little square (timeline view)at the bottom of an object next to the blank space, where they show fades and wipes etc, and select `Cut` of `Disolve then back to cut, and everything will move along to fill the space, think you have to have `Multi-track Ripple`selected also for this to work. (right hand end of timeline near razor-split). hope this helps to.
