How to snap a clip without transition effect?

I try to bump one clip next to another and often it will not "snap" to the other clip without creating a transition effect. Can't seem to figure out how to make it snap to the other clip without causing this? Or I get a fraction of blank space between the two clips. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
What you need to do is click on the video clip following the gap and you will see a little A/B box if you can't see it zoom in abit - click on the A/B box and select Cut (No fade) the gap will close up and all the following footage will shuffle up .... simples !

Ok but what if you have set the A/B function to Cut (no fade) and it still has a gap? On mine, it is like there is an invisible force that prevents the clips from being joined together. It used to snap to perfectly and only started doing this recently. What else could the problem be?
