I have Movie Edit Pro 2014, and i have two problems.1: I can't figure out how to trim middle areas of av ideo. 2: wheni pause a video, it starts all the way baack at the begining! Please help!!

1. First off, see page 28 in the user manual. Set the playback marker exactly at the start of the unusable material. Press "T" on the keyboard or click on the razor blade. This will split the current scene into two sections at
the position of the playback marker. Repeat these steps for the end of the unusable scene. Find the end of the
unusable scene, place the play marker as close as possible to the end point, and then press the "T" key on the keyboard again (or the razor blade). Select the scene to be deleted by clicking it with the mouse. Now you have "isolated" the unusable scene and may delete it from the movie using the "Del" key on the keyboard or "Ctrl+Del" if you want the space to disapear. Look at the pop down to the left of the razor blade for more options about split mode. Read the manual.
2. Two solutions, instead of pause, click with the mouse where you want to stop and then spacebar to pause. Or, go to File, Settings, Program, and on the first tab, Playback, right hand side under Arranger, third topic is "Spacebar behavior." Check the box and the spacebar will stop the playback marker at the location where you pause.
Again, read the manual.

Go to 'File' >> 'Settings' >> Program...',[Y] key shortcut. On the 'Playback' tab is a setting for the behavior of the space bar (and the play arrow icon or the up arrow cursor key) -- to stop at the current position or not.
For making a cuts in the selected object you can use the [T] key with the cursor at the beginning of your section, make a second cut at the other end of the region, select the mid section, and then [Ctrl + Del] to delete and close the gap. Going to 'Window' >> 'Object trimmer' gives more options. For more detail search for trim in the help file or the pdf manual that is distributed with your program.

Another quicker way - as described by Carl and browj2 make the first cut using the T key, move the timeline cursor as described to to position for the second cut and then press the Z key to delete from the previous cut to the timeline cursor position and automatically close the gap.
If you want to delete from the timeline cursor to the end of the selected object use the U key.
