@JIM-MAXIM

We need rather more detail about the disc if we are to have any chance of helping you, I think.

First, what type of disc? I'm guessing you want to create a DVD containing the exported video of a project from VPX. Is that correct? (Which version of VPX by the way; you can check under Help>About?)

What are the formats of the various source files you mention (videos pics and music)? The free MediaInfo is a very valuable tool for discovering format details of all sorts of files, images, videos and audio. If you're not sure how to go about gathering this data please read and follow this tutorial.

From your description of the problem it seems the export stops at the same point each time. Is that correct? If so, what is on the timeline at the point where the export stops? If you remove the object used at that point on the timeline, does the export then finish, albeit possibly with a "gap"?

Have you got a Range set (a blue line above the first track)? If so, is the right hand end of that line at the 24 minute mark (i.e., where the stop occurs in the export) and have you set the export to be only that range?

Sorry for all the questions but the more detail we have the more likely we are to be able to suggest what is causing the problem and how to avoid it!

I appreciate your questions. Basically it stops at the same point on the DVD-R on each burn. But it loads completely if I export it as a video file to an external drive. I'll follow your suggestions and see what happens.

It appears that the downloaded AI videos are causing a problem. Disc did not burn at all, was aborted.

AAProds wrote on 12/9/2025, 5:35 PM

@JIM-MAXIM

Jim, you can isolate either the encoding/authoring process or the burning process: set the burner to "Image Recorder". Magix will then "burn" the project to an ISO file. If that is successful, the problem points to a burner issue. If the encoding to ISO fails, you know it's a problem with the project itself.

Hi

. . . . It appears that the downloaded AI videos are causing a problem . . . .

Looking at the error log data, I would agree with you that the issue is with the AI PNG files.

Do the PNG images open in an image editor?

Do the images have an Alpha channel, and what is the bit depth?

Eight bits per channel, sometimes conflated to 24 bit for RGB and 32 bit for RGBA, import and export in VPX with no issues.

@JIM-MAXIM

In addition to what @AAProds (Al) has suggested, I see from the image of the error report that the problem images are saved to your OneDrive. Use of any cloud storage service whilst editing, exporting etc., of video and/or image files is NOT recommended!

Move the files to your internal (or external, if you have one) hard drive and try the export again.

Hi

@emmrecs good catch on the file locations.

If you must use OneDrive then remove the Magix folder from syncing with the cloud. See this Microsoft article if you do not know how to do this.

Hi,

I think that it's even worse. What I see in the log is:

...\OneDrive\Desktop\...

so the Desktop is on OneDrive and the files are on the Desktop. Is this possible?

@JIM-MAXIM

Hi Jim,

Could you please learn how to take screen shots - not with a camera. Search for "how to take and save screen shots" on the internet and learn how to do this.

@browj2

Hi John

. . . . ...\OneDrive\Desktop\... . . .

The Desktop is one of the default folders that are synced, the others are the Documents, and Pictures folders.

The images being on the desktop may be a contributing factor as well as the fact that they are on OneDrive and the PNG format, the Artspace AI PNG's are allegedly standard format, ie RGB or RGBA, in theory no other colour spaces are allowed/supported.
