Larger videos out of sync. Small ones fine. Tried other solutions but no luck so far...

Hi,

So I am new to using Movie Edit but have had some experience using other software in the past.

I am making a movie using videos captured on my Sony DCR-SR45 HDD Camera (.mpg, 720x576 (16:9), 25fps, most of them at 15-30 seconds long. I need to trim them a little here and there though.

Some videos import just fine but others seem to import out of sync. They all play fine in the preview but when I drag them onto my timeline they go out of sync.

The "buggy ones" when dragged onto the timeline seem to get a black frame type thing added to the end (this is hard to explain so I have included a picture -the buggy video is the last one on the timeline).

I have tried reducing the Movie Display resolution under Video/Audio in the Program Settings but it does not help at all.

I have tried closing other background programs also.

My computer is more than capable as far as system resources go; 8Gb RAM and an i7 processor.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

Are you pulling these clips in directly from the camera with the Movie Edit Pro?

If you still have the clips on the camera, try this, just to see if it helps. Import one of the known affected empty frame clips onto your hard drive, outside the program, then import it into the Movie Edit Pro...

If this is how you have done these, then try loading one of the affected clips directly from the software... let’s see if you get the same result.

At first I just copied the files from my HDD Camera into the Movie Edit project folder.

I tried copying in to the program straight from the camera but that didnt help either.

I also noticed (didnt mention this before) that when playback gets to the "black frame" the preview also turns black.

Just to confirm there is no hidden "render" button like in the old days with Adobe Premier? right?

The help is appreciated :)
