Loose FX Key frames when Changing Photo Durations

vidoman wrote on 7/22/2011, 1:42 PM

Using MEP 17+ HD; WinXP HP SP3..

I'm trying to construct my own collage. After getting everything set the way I want, the photos positioned, rotated, transparency/opacity, movements, I found I would like to speed things up a little. In my other NLEs this is done by just shortening the duration of the images, and doing so any keyframed FX adjusted accordingly. However in MEP, I find that when I shorten the duration of a photo, the keyframes get dropped or everything goes out of whack.

Is it possible to maintain the keyframed FX, and yet shorten the duration to they speed up? If so how?

Thanks..

Ron P.

PS: I'm not sure I like this new forum. The old one was easier to look for answers. I've spent a couple of hours searching this thing, and still can't get close to what I'm after.

Hi Vidoman

Welcome to the Jungle that is the new forum.....makes what we had before look so simple, eh!

If you go to the timeline (with the diamond KF graphics) in the effects window and click the white triangle to the right of the specific effect there will be a drop down with a choice "combine effects curve with object length". Select that for each effect and that should do the trick.

There is also a choice there saying "edit effects curve" which opens a window to allow you to easily tailor the duration and strength of your already created effect curve - very handy.
