Magix Mp3 export is changing the tempo (slowing it down)

Hello learned people of the Magix community forum-

I am a paid registered user of the software titled Magix MP3 maker 14 deluxe version 9.03- I have this program installed on my windows 11 desktop

I am experiencing a problem when I edit an audio clip (The editing I do is usually just selecting a sample of an original MP3 on the time lines to shorten the time using the range editor and then exporting the shortened clip as an mp3 file, I dont think it used to do this, but lately it tends to slow down the tempo on the exported clip for some reason. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to fix it and if so how? I think I can fix this if I adjust the tempo, and I am told I can do this from the metronome, but I cant find any icon or other reference to a metronome! Please advise how I can adjust the tempo, and Let me know if you require any screen snapshots, Many thanks

@Hitest Do you convert the MP3 to WAV during import? It's recommended.

hi no i never tried that i wanted it to remain an mp3 file-thanks for the suggestion-actually it turns out my browser ai gave me a hint that i was able to use to fix the problem-it all has to do with the sampling rate. when i select part of a clip and copy it to the editor then open as a virtual project, for some reason the sampling rate changes to 44.1 when the initial was 48. If I then select playback options and change it back to 48 and export that as my new mp3 the new file has the correct tempo. Since I have found a solution should i now mark this thread as solved or leave it open? thx

@Hitest Simply mark your answer as the solution. Besides that, MP3 files are intended for the final file format and not for editing. You can get unforeseen results if editing an MP3 without converting it first. But MP3 Maker might do this automatically in the background.
