MAGIX Video deluxe 2026-number of chapter markers

Alfns wrote on 9/10/2025, 4:43 AM

Is this true?

"MAGIX Video deluxe software, including the 2026 Premium version, does not specify a fixed maximum number of chapter markers. Instead, users can insert as many chapter markers as needed for navigation. The software provides options to set these markers at specific intervals or automatically based on the project's needs."

For DVDs:

I don't know what the maximum number is but for the rest, Yes. Put as many as you like wherever you like (IIRC, there may be a closest limit eg no two markers closer than 10 secs). Or set them at either regular times eg every 5 minutes (user-selectable) or a certain number over the movie.

Hi

This depends on which disc format you are referring to

The DVD standard which all DVD discs must adhere to, states you can have up to 99 movies each with up to 99 Chapters on one disc.

The Blu-ray standard, which all BD discs must adhere to, states you can have up to 999 movies each with upto 99 Chapters on one disc.

However, there are practical limitations, the disc capacity and the Disc template you use if creating the disc in program, eg these are my personal limits, whether a Movies menu or Chapters menu to make navigation for the viewer easy:

A static text style only templates, no more than 16 links arranged in 2 columns by 8 rows, plus the Main menu, Previous page, Next page links, the Menu number e.g. 1 of 3, and the menu Title.

Static Image button style templates no more than 8, in a 2 x 4 arrangement, plus all the additional items mentioned above.

Dynamic templates, eg those with buttons moving across the screen, no more than 6 movies, for higher number of movies present a real problem in how long do you want to wait for the movie to appear.

Hi,

You can use Automatic Chapter Markers. For this, the limit seems to be 99 and 1s minimum interval. I did this and then added some so I got more than 99.

When adding more, I tried to do less than 1s and got this message:

As @johnebaker mentioned, I expect that there is a limit to 99 if you are going to use the Burn tool.

However, for Batch conversion (exporting chapters to separate files), it seems to accept more than 99 chapters. I didn't actually try exporting.
