.mov file won't load

I have Windows 7 pro and Movie Edit Pro 15, and .mov files won't load.  They run fine in Windows media player and any other player, but Movie Edit Pro won't recognize the file.  They didn't open in Movie Edit pro 14 running in XP pro either.  My camera shoots movies in this .mov format--this seems like a major glitch for this program.  Is there a fix for this?

No, I don't have Quicktime installed, but I do on the machine that runs XP and .mov files will not load on MEP 14 on that computer.  I've got a Panasonic Lumix camera.

You need to install the latest version of quicktime on both machines.
