Movie Edit Pro MX Plus can't preview / import 3D *.AVI files

I own Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus and it works fine with 3D *.AVI video files.

I received an email offering an upgrade to Movie Edit Pro MX.  I bought it, installed it and activated it. I found it does not do 3D files. After asking a question here I was directed to the web pages with Movie Edit Pro MX Plus.

I uninstalled Movie Edit Pro MX and then bought, downloaded and installed (and activated) Movie Edit Pro MX Plus.

My problem is that Movie Edit Pro MX Plus behaves just like Movie Edit Pro MX. It can't see 3D *.avi files either.

But my Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus HD still sees and works fine with my 3D *.avi files.

Has anyone seen this? It looks like the prior install of the non-Plus version is preventing the Plus version from functioning like a Plus version.

Hi

You can try uninstalling again and then use the Magix cleanup tool to remove the bits left behind.  Reboot your computer after using the tool.

I have had a similar problem, but only with the preview aspect.  If I select Effects > Stereo 3D > Properties > Standard (2D); then set the preview to anaglyph, it does display in 3D; the only problem is you cannot 'Align' the images!  This is a nonsense that needs sorting out, especially when, like yourself, I have had to pay for two versions to get this far.  There is software that splits left and right streams which will then work fine using two tracks.

Hi John

We had a power / surge in my suburb and it blew up my PC. I bought a new one and on the new one Movie Edit Pro MX Plus works perfectly.

That doesn't really fix my original problem, but at least the software now works as intended. :-)

I tried uninstalling and running the Magix clean program. Nothing worked on the old PC.
