mp3 not supported?

Hi everyone, I am trying to save a WAV file as an MP3 and getting the following error, is there a fix for this?

"There is no template available for this format. The selected media may not support it. Try again?"

Hello, welcome

Open sound forge

Click file ,reset all preferences and cached data (check the box and click OK)

Then close and reopen the program.

If no success see thread here.
