Cam Corder as in analog tape camera?

If so, what is your capture device?

gosh22,

john-auvil is asking how did you get your video from your camera to your computer. Older models require an add-on card in the computer to convert the analog (continuously varying) signal on tape to digital information the computer can use. These devices could also require additional connections from camera to sound card which might be the cause of your problem.

Next up is probably 'firewire' which is typically used for transfer data from digital camcorders -- either from the camera tape or hard drive. In this case a likely suspect is a setting under 'File' >> 'Program settings' >>  'Video/Audio' tab. Make sure that the  'Extract sound from videos' box is ticked.

If you have a camera with a removable memory card the sound should be part of the file you copy from the card to your computer. Do you hear your audio if you play the clip in say Windows media player? If not then the problem seems to be with your camera rather than MEP.

Note: Including some detail of your system helps other users to answer questions.

Hope this helps,

Carl
