No video while using "Record" to dub narrative in Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus - works in Edit Pro 2013 Plus

I downloaded the latest update (version 13.0.3.14) but the problem persists, i.e., when recording narration using the "Record" function the video DOES NOT PLAY for more than a fraction of a second even though the "play while recording" box is checked.  The audio does get recorded, and it is placed at the correct point on the timeline, but the video does not continue to play during the recording.  I tried editing less complex projects, but the problem persists.  I finally went back and loaded the same project into Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus and the recording feature works perfecty.

Either a bug was introduced in Edit Pro 2014 Plus or I am missing something.  I tried changing lots of settings in the "Record" dialog box, but nothing helped.  This same question was posed by "dombat asked on 2013-11-28 at 12:55 AM", but he did not seem to get any satisfaction either.  I have not received a response from him either.

Running Magix on Windows 7 Home Premium PC with 3.4GHz Core i7-4770 processor, 16GB RAM and 64 bit OS.
