Right click on your audio object and choose 'Volume curve' from the drop down menu. You can double click on the line which appears to create adjustment nodes -- drag them up or down to change the volume at that point. Note the color of the line and its initial position has varied with different versions of MEP.

You can still alter the overall volume of a track using the master mixer.
