Object doesn't play after edited in Music Editor 3

I edited an .HPD file in Music Editor 3. The object was a vocal in one of my songs. When I played the song with that object in Music Maker 2014 Premium, the .HPD file (the object) did not play. When I position the red playback line on it and play the song, the object plays. But when I play the song from the beginning, the .HDP object does not play. Why? I can't figure it out.

An HDP file is not an audio file format - the file contains data about the audio or video+audio object they are connected to.

See this FAQ.

You need to use the real audio files the HDP file is connected to.

Thanks for the answer, johnbaker. A day after I posted my question, I figured out that .HPD files were not audio files, but image files. I edited the .wav file for that object and things worked beautifully.
