Online updates don't work if you don't have the programme disk

Using Movie Edit Pro 15 Download Version.  I perform an online update search, get a message 'a new programme update has been found', and ask to install it.

Error occurs

"Magix Movie Edit Pro could not been found on your system!
Please install Movie Edit Pro from the original Program-CD
This installation will exit!"

The application completely reboots and I get no further. As I have the download version and no CD how do I get the updates?

Hi,

This is probably just the automatic online update feature messing up. It downloads a patch that doesn't really match your particular version. There is an update for your download version as well. You just have to grab it off the support site manually. Go here:

http://support.magix.net

Make sure you're on the correct language version of the product you're using. Probably, you'll be automatically forwarded to the correct language version of the site anyway. Go to the downloads section and click your way through to the video programs and Movie Edit Pro. Find the right patch for your version (download or disc, classic or Plus). Download and install it. Done!

I hope this helps.

I actually downloaded it as suggested and I still get the same result as the person that posed the original problem. So I copied it to the same folder where the Magix exe is installed. Same result.

Still not working. Any ideas out there would be great! THanks
