My original video is 1080i 16x9. I edited using MEP17 HD and exported as an MPEG4 16x9, 1080i. The exported MPEG4 is pixelated throughout, the original .mov file was fine. I used a WIN7 sp1 laptop, I7 processor, 6 gig RAM. Help, please?
Try to close temporary unnecessary running program such antivirius, Skype, MSN etc... or using the Ctrl+Alt+Del key to free ressources. Check same time the number of running applications and used memory.
Make test with a new small length movie to check if the problem still.
For HD normally we boost computer to 16 gig memory because just to run Windows 7 64 bits this need 5 gig if you use in the movie effets the computer need to calculate.
IMHO yvon-robert's suggestions are spot on for the ease of editing and speed of rendering but have little to do with the 'quality' of an output. My Pentium 4 does a fine job of rendering HD material - it just takes overnight to complete! :-)
At the top of the export window should be a dropdown list of presets for paramters -- resolution, aspect ratio etc. Did you pick one of the HDTV ones? You can't just change the resolution to say 1920x1080 and leave everything else set to values, particularly bitrate, appropriate for a mobile phone. There are also 'advanced' settings, but I just rely on the presets.
Thank you both so much. I will re-shoot 2 very short scenes, dissolve between the two, export and try the dropdown HD presets. Last time, I incorrectly just set resolution to 192ox1080. If that doesn't do it, I will try max-ing out the RAM. I just find it hard to believe that all the MEP HD videos I have seen on the web require 16 gig or more memory. I will post my results here.

I shot 2 15 second videos in 1080i and edited into a combined video. I then exported as MPEG4 using one of the HD presets. LOOKS GREAT on my large screen HDTV. Problem solved! Thank you again so much.
