Problems playing PS3

Using Movie Edit Pro 17+HD.
New Intel I7 PC with Blu-Ray burner
Blu-Ray / DVD player is a Sony PS3.
Just upgraded and and installed MEP and put together a quick presentation mainly still photo’s and a small section of video.
Burn’t presentation onto a Sony printable DVD-R 4.7gb disk and stuck it into the PS3 only to find it was not recognised. Tried and disk , and the same result.
I then tried a Verbatim 4.7gb DVD+R with the same presentation, it was recognised and played in the PS3.
I then tried a Sony printable DVD-R 8.5gb disk, same presentation and this time MEP told me the disk could only be read and not written to. Tried a second disk, same result.
I then switched to Magix speedburnR program, selected some data, and it burn’t successfully using the rejected read only DVD-R, no mention of the disk being read only. Repeated the same back up function with the second rejected DVD-R 8.5gb disk, same successful result.
Downloaded and installed latest patch 10.0.10.2 and with the same result, a DVD-R is not even recognised by the PS3
MEP does not seem to like DVD-R disks. Previously burn’t DVD-R disks and presentations run on the PS3 which were burn’t using other software.
The only information in the Sony PS3 manual is that a DVD-R must be finalised for it to work on the PS3.
Is MEP finalising DVD-R disks? They all run on a PC DVD drive and laptop DVD drive.
Thanks

If you export the presentation and burn it on a DVD-R unless you finalized it it will not work. I always burn the work using Magix's built-in burner and it works on both -R and +R  disks.

Securityman.

Thanks for your reply, I will give the export method a go.

Hi Swannr, what's the latest on your PS3 issue?  I have same MEP17+ HD and no discs so far will play on PS3.  I'm using a different PC model and an LG BluRay Burner, but same "unrecognized" discs in PS3.  DVD-R Verbatim 25GB blanks and I've tried AVCHD and various BluRay settings i.e. 1080i, 1080p.  I'm burning with the Magix Burner, but not using the Export approach.  Should I be?  Your last message seems to indicate that's where you were going.

I hate the manuals and online help contents for this software, it's lacking so much compared to the actual options and settings available within the software itself.

Thanks...
