Prodad Hide v2 - I can't stop the auto play.

I recently purchased the Video Studio bundle that came with ProDad Hide v2 (external app, not plugin). The issue I am experiencing with it is when I start a new project and open a video clip onto the track and then soon after I highlight the object that I want hidden, the app starts automatically playing the video in a loop and I cannot stop it too pause on a frame so I can manually move the highlighted spot to follow the object. It makes the app impossible to work with. Has anyone else experience this?

Not personally but it is an infuriating piece of software to work with. Most levels of ability don't work for hiding things and camera angles and the direction of what you want to hide become important as to how successful you are. I hope V2 has improved as I have version 1,5.

My limited attempts and problems so far.

That is a crazy result.
For my video; I wanted to make a flying seagull disappear for a video clip I had taken earlier today, otherwise it would be flying backwards. Fortunately that moving background is a still landscape just moving with the camera angle tilting, so Hide managed to get the job done good enough, but not perfect.

I have found a way to pause that autoplay issue by pressing F1 to open up the Help pdf in a new window. Ridiculous, but it works.

So glad I didn't pay the normal price for it, I would have not been happy. No disrespect to Pro Dad, I already had Vitascene 5 Pro, and I love that plugin.

Hi.

The slower the frame rate the less work the program and your computer has to do. You don't need the program to use as many frames ahead and behind to help replace the background. The more static the camera and the more the offending objects go across the screen as opposed to coming towards you, the easier it is to obtain better results. I can't seem to get reasonable results with any of the lower quality settings so the renders take forever. I have no idea what the newer version is like but it should have reliable smart masking by now.

Re-speeder can also give unpredictable results with appendages bending the wrong way or bits warping that shouldn’t.

I didn't buy the program for those particular programs and they are more of a curiosity for me. Something to play with when I've nothing better to do. Sometimes for a one off effect.

Maybe one day those tools will be more usable.
