Recording Live instruments into Acd Pro 11

Total rookie question but I am a total rookie. How do I record live instruments into Acid Pro?

If you're recording say an acoustic guitar you'll need to plug the mic into your audio interface. If you're recording say a keyboard you plug directly into your interface. Good luck
